The main objectives of mobility project Erasmus + are improved professional and personal competencies of employees in Ljubljana City Library (LCL).
The project consisted of four working visits (mobilities) for five days. Mobility project was attended by four employees working in the field of informing and educating adult library users from following target groups: unemployed, less educated and elderly. We chose four partner organizations who have previous experiences and knowledge in working with selected target groups: improving services and trainings for job seekers (City of Vantaa Library and information services, Finland) digital literacy training (Monaghan County Council Library Services, Ireland), providing health information and education (Stoke-on-Trent City Council, United Kingdom), and language training (Volkshochschule-Stadtbibliothek Linz, Austria). Participants were included in a job shadowing in partner organizations and presented the work of LCL and functioning of the Slovenian system of adult education.
Participation in the project enabled an overview of the methods of the partner organizations. Participants will transfer best practices from abroad into their daily work in LCL and beyond. Participating in the mobility project brings improvement of the quality of adult education of users, new knowledge in the field of teaching and learning, additional reference in the field of cooperation at European level and recognition of LCL as a possible host of mobility in adult education.
