Trubar Literature House is a public space dedicated to literature and the book, located in the very centre of the city, organizing numerous events throughout the year, thus contributing to a lively cultural and urban pulse of the city.
The Trubar Literature House is located on the first floor of the house at Ribji trg (Fish Market Square) in which Primož Trubar used to live. On the surface of 175 m2 there are four chambers renovated in minimalist style: the museum room dedicated to Primož Trubar, the central event space and two smaller club – reading rooms.
In the museum room visitors can see a light installation by Italian artist Alessandro Lupi, while in the club rooms a light –mechanical puppet animation by Slovene artist Žiga Lebar is on display.
For the duration of the project »Ljubljana – World Book Capital 2010« the Trubar Literature House functioned as an additional information centre hosting many promotional and other events. At the end of 2011 the Trubar Literature House passed under the management of the Ljubljana City Library.
The Trubar Literature House organizes events for diverse target groups. The selection of event topics is related to the book, literature and the city and through these three coceptual programme starting points a vast field of related areas is researched.
